Here's a list of the different keycaps profiles:
High Profile:
- SA: Sculpted and spherical. Originally manufactured by Signature Plastics. Also commonly available from other manufacturers like Maxkey.
- The sculpt of SA keycaps vary from set to set impacting ergonomics and comfort. A few of the more common sculpts:
- 1-1-2-3-4-3
- 1-1-2-3-4-4
- 3-3-3-3-3-3
- 3-1-2-3-4-3
- 2-2-3-3-3-3
- MT3: Sculpted. Designed by community member Matt3o and produced by Drop (Formerly Massdrop). These are slightly shorter than SA caps and feature a deep dish top that hugs your fingertips.
- Currently there is only one sculpt available:
- 0-1-2-3-4-4
- KAT: Sculpted. KAT is an ultra smooth sculpted profile PBT dye-sub keycap set that embraces the classic aesthetics of spherical keycaps combines the ergonomics of Cherry profile keycaps. Profile Comparison.
Medium Profile:
- Cherry: Sculpted. The current golden standard for keycaps. Designed and originally produced by Cherry GmbH. They are now more commonly available from manufacturers like GMK, JTK, & enjoyPBT.
- OEM: Sculpted. Very similar to Cherry profile but slightly taller.
- DCS: Sculpted. Very similar to Cherry profile but slightly taller. Features additional sculpts. Originally manufactured by Signature plastics.
- MDA: Sculpted. Similar to SA in feel but much shorter. Designed and manufactured by Melgeek.
- DSS: Sculpted. Designed and produced by Signature Plastics, this set looks and feels like a sculpted version of DSA.
- Topre OEM: Sculpted.
- Cubic: Sculpted. Profile created by Tai-Hao. Combines sculpt of cherry with height of OEM.
Low Profile:
- DSA: Non-sculpted. Originally manufactured by Signature Plastics.
- XDA: Non-sculpted. Slightly taller than DSA with a similar shape.
- G20: Non-sculpted. Square flat top keycaps. Originally manufactured by Signature Plastics.
